Receiving: An act of Love

Food for thought on the act of giving and receiving.

.

Back in the mid 1990's I was in a seminar. The leader asked all 150 of us "Who likes to give?". 95% of us raised our hands.

Then he asked, "Who likes to receive?" 8 people raised their hands.

He looked at us seriously and said, "Well that's a PROBLEM, isn't it?"

I have no memory about the seminar but that exchange opened my eyes to how I receive just about anything. I know now that the act of receiving graciously is nothing less than an act of love.

And it doesn't have to be an actual material gift.

How do you respond to compliments?

Do you have a family member or friend who is

always available to help you or listen to you?

Are there friends or people in your life that

you take for granted? Think about it honestly.

Do you know someone who is hard to please and rarely likes a gift? How does that make you feel?

This December we have an opportunity to stay connected to love, behind our giving and behind our receiving.

Thank your for the gift of your presence.

Namaste

Deb
