Deb Kurilla founded Body of Light in 2000 after experiencing how profoundly yoga and meditation could transform both body and mind. Once a fast-paced New York City bookstore manager with a type-A personality and anxiety as her constant companion, she found in yoga a path toward balance, strength, inner calm and contentment.
For more than three decades Deb has helped hundreds of students move with greater ease, confidence, and awareness. Drawing on her training in yoga therapy, meditation, adaptive yoga, Pilates, somatic movement, restorative yoga, chair yoga and balance training, she guides students with warmth, intelligence, and deep respect for the body’s natural wisdom.
Her work now focuses on guiding students age 55 + to move with wisdom and grace in the next chapter of life.
